Distractible. Inattentive. Messy. Impulsive. Chatty. Late
These are some of the words often used to describe me and it wasn’t until my mid-20s and after a couple of [unsuccessful] attempts at juggling work, relationships, social life, college and the worst: DAILY LIFE that I suspected that I may have ADHD.
One rabbit hole led to the other and I received confirmation after confirmation that i wasn't the only person in the world having these struggles. That there was other people like me, I wasn't wrong , I wasn't broken and things I though were just my "personality" were now described as having Inattentive ADHD
But still ... was this just all in my head?
ADHD is a term that gets thrown around a lot, so in this week’s episode we discover what it is, how it shows up, and how to (possibly) spot it in yourself and others. ADHD is about so much more than difficulty concentrating and when undiagnosed can take a HUGE toll on our self worth, our relationships, our confidence and more !
What You’ll Learn from this Episode:
- My story with ADHD and realizing I wasn’t just a “lazy screw up”
- The many misunderstandings around ADHD and it’s symptoms
- Does everyone has ADHD? How it shows up for me and many others
- Some tools that you can use in your day-to-day or in your own work to stop your ADHD brain from running the show
- ADHD, THE WORKPLACE & Quitting My Job To Start A Business
- How you can make ADHD work for you (it’s not a weakness but a STRENGTH)
Disclaimer:
ADHD is a neurobiological disorder meaning your brain is actually wired different than the neuro-typical brain. In less medical terms, ADHD is a medical diagnosis in which you struggle with organization, time management, planning, prioritizing, emotional regulation, impulsivity, hyperactivity, inattention, and more.
This episode is not enough to be used to diagnose oneself. Please take the appropriate steps and advice before making any conclusions.
